How to Download OneDrive Files

Summary

Review this article for assistance on how to download files from OneDrive to a device.

Body

This article will demonstrate how to download OneDrive files to your personal device or local computer.

It is recommended to save what you need well in advance before the associated @titans.easternflorida.edu address is no longer available, preferably upon receiving notice that the account is planned to be deleted.

Please note if you haven't been an active student for several semesters, OneDrive may already not be available to you.

This article was developed using a desktop computer utilizing Windows 11. Depending on the operating system and if you are using a mobile device, some of the steps below may differ slightly, but will mostly be similar.

How to Download OneDrive Files

1.  Begin by visiting https://www.onedrive.com

2.  Locate the Sign In option.

Note:  There may be a couple buttons to Sign In, either near the top of the page or in the top right corner.

3.  You should now be directed to a Microsoft sign in page. Log in using your titans email address and password, then complete the MFA verification.

Note: After entering your titans email address, the log in page may visually change to reflect the Eastern Florida State College sign in.

4.  OneDrive should now open which will include the left navigation menu seen in the image below. Click on My files to proceed.

5.  Within My files you should see the folders and files you have stored. Locate a file or folder you would like to download from OneDrive to your device.

When hovering the mouse cursor over the file or folder, click the circle to the left of the file or folder so that it is selected (blue checkmark). Then, click the three dots to the right of the file or folder name (More Actions).

6.  A new dropdown menu should appear. Find and click the Download option.

7.  The file or folder should now be directed to the Downloads of your device. Normally, a browser notification should appear near and/or below the address bar where the Downloads can be opened to view the file or folder.

Note: If you select multiple files and folders, a zip file may be created which can be opened to view the files and folders on your device.

8.  After the file or folder has been downloaded, you can then decide where to store it on your device!
